The session began at the Haven Nature Hotel & Villas with remarks by Amaro Lopes dos Reis, President of APIP, followed by the presentation of the 2025 Activity and Financial Report led by Joana Martins Mendes and Nuno Aguiar, Executive Director and Technical Director of APIP, respectively.

We would like to highlight the presence of Mr. Gonçalo Lopes, Mayor of Leiria, who addressed those present regarding the impacts of Storm Kristin, in a gesture of support and solidarity with the region’s businesses.

The session was complemented by a Side Event dedicated to critical issues for the industry, reinforcing the importance of anticipating trends and empowering companies in the current context:

  • Geopolitics and International Economics: Impacts on Industry | Filipe Grilo, Head of Applied Research, Porto Business School
  • European Union Trade Agreements – Mercosur and India: Opportunities and Implications | Pedro Sousa, Department of International Economic Relations, Directorate-General for the Economy
  • Risks, Trends, and Challenges in the Insurance Market for Industry | Nuno Rodrigues, Director of Property and Engineering Risks, MDS Group Portugal

Pedro Paes do Amaral, Executive Vice President of APIP, closed the session, followed by a networking lunch.

Our sincere thanks to the Mayor of Leiria, Gonçalo Lopes, the speakers, and all the members who attended. More than just a formal occasion, the General Assembly is a forum for active participation, where we build a stronger, more representative APIP - one that is prepared and aligned to respond to the challenges facing the sector.
