Today marks International Biodiversity Day

May 22, 2026

A sustainable transition is not possible without the preservation of biodiversity and the regeneration of ecosystems.
We would like to remind you that this was one of the key topics at the Plastics Summit - Global Event 2025, organized by APIP, particularly during the panel discussion titled Regenerative Ecosystem Architecture: From Cradle to Cradle.
Today marks International Biodiversity Day

The discussion led to a common understanding:

  • Biodiversity loss and pollution are interconnected
  • The response requires circular and regenerative approaches throughout the value chain
  • Innovation in materials and systems is key to reducing environmental pressures
  • The plastics industry plays an active role in protecting and restoring nature

Biodiversity is not a sector-specific issue - it is an essential indicator of the effectiveness of the ongoing transition.

n this context, APIP reiterates its invitation to sign the Position Statement of the Plastics Summit - Global Event 2025, as a guiding instrument for the entire value chain, promoting a transition to a circular, inclusive, and climate-neutral economy.
