APIP will be exhibiting at Empack and Logistics & Automation Porto at Exponor
April 23, 2026
For the third consecutive year, APIP is participating in Empack and Logistics & Automation Porto, and yesterday hosted the roundtable discussion “PPWR: The New Era of Packaging | Is the Value Chain Ready?” in the DHL room.
At a pivotal moment for the future of packaging in Europe, this session brought together a cross-sectoral perspective - representing industry, recycling, waste management, the scientific community, and consumers - to foster an open and constructive debate on the challenges and opportunities associated with the new Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR).
The following topics were highlighted:
- Technical and operational challenges
- Implications for the market and consumers
- Opportunities for innovation and competitiveness
A special thank you to all the speakers:
- Bruno Pereira da Silva (PIEP - Innovation in Polymer Engineering)
- Elsa Agante (DECO PROteste)
- Pedro Simões (Novo Verde)
- Ricardo Pereira (Sirplaste)
- Rui Toscano (Polivouga)
Here are some highlights from the roundtable discussion.
Throughout these two days of Empack and Logistics & Automation Porto, APIP will also have a booth on-site, strengthening its ties with its members and stakeholders, and promoting the role of the plastics industry in the transition to a more circular and sustainable economy.
