APIP links the UREKA Awards to its Social Responsibility initiative

Through this initiative, APIP made a donation, on behalf of each of the winning projects of the U!REKA Awards, to three organizations that carry out work of recognized merit and high impact within the community: the Leiria Volunteer Fire Department, Cáritas Diocesana de Leiria-Fátima, and InPulsar – Association for Community Development.

This initiative takes on even greater significance in the wake of Storm Kristin, which profoundly affected one of the country’s major industrial hubs, where a significant portion of APIP’s member companies are concentrated. Against this backdrop, the vital role played by organizations that provide daily support to people, businesses, and communities during times of greatest vulnerability has become even more evident.

By linking the awards ceremony to this charitable initiative, APIP sought to forge a connection between innovation, academia, social responsibility, and positive impact on the region, demonstrating that recognition of excellence can also translate into a concrete contribution to those working for the common good.

This initiative also reflects APIP’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly those related to promoting more resilient, inclusive, and sustainable communities, reinforcing the belief that economic and industrial development must go hand in hand with social responsibility.

APIP believes that a truly sustainable industry is one that, in addition to innovating and creating economic value, actively contributes to strengthening the communities where it operates and to building a society that is more resilient, supportive, and prepared to meet the challenges of the future.
