May 8, 2026
Following its presence at Chinaplas in Shanghai, the WUPA - World Union of Plastics Associations continues its global promotion momentum, marking its participation in key international industry events.
In this context, Bernard Merkx, founder of GreenWave Plastics, together with Nagihan Kul, Certification and Training Director of PAGEV promoted WUPA - World Union of Plastics Associations at the Plastics Recycling Show Europe in Amsterdam - one of Europe’s leading events dedicated to plastics recycling and the circular economy.
Launched at the beginning of 2025 by its two founding members - APIP and PAGEV - and consolidated during the Plastics Summit - Global Event 2025, WUPA currently brings together 37 members from 30 countries in this international promotion phase.
The initiative aims to establish itself as a global coordination instrument, capable of:
- strengthening the sector’s collective influence
- harmonizing positions
- building a common narrative on the role of plastics in society, the circular economy, and sustainable development
At the same time, WUPA seeks to create a space for continuous strategic alignment around the major challenges facing the industry.
