On October 10, 2022, the new legislation on recycled plastic materials and objects intended to come into contact with food came into force - Regulation (EU) 2022/1616 of the Commission, of September 15, 2022, which repeals Regulation (EC) No. 282/2008. In this context, the Portuguese Plastics Industry Association (APIP) will carry on, on the 20th of March, the Food Contact Workshop at the NERLEI Building - Business Association of the Region of Leiria. This event will address the news, main changes and implications of this new Regulation on companies in the plastics industry and their markets, as well as key aspects of the framework legislation on materials (plastics) in contact with food.

This Workshop will be attended by Ana Paula Bico from the Directorate-General for Food and Veterinary Medicine (DGAV), Fatima Poças and Maria Selbourne from the School of Biotechnology of the Catholic University of Portugal.
